Home: Practical Help When Life Gets Complicated

Welcome to Mountain Compass in Western North Carolina.

For most of my life, I've been a person friends, family, and neighbors turn to when something feels complicated such as a medical decision, a confusing process, or a situation where the next step isn't clear. I help people slow things down, sort through what they know, and figure out what matters most. I've noticed that most people don't lack information. They usually have too much information, and not enough support deciding what to do next. Mountain Compass grew out of that gap.

This love of helping people think things through has dovetailed naturally with my professional work at General Electric and Cincinnati Children's Hospital, where I spent over 20 years navigating complex systems and supporting thoughtful decision-making. Mountain Compass is where those experiences come together. (Read more about my background on the About Me page.)

When life feels complicated, you don't have to figure it out alone. I would love to help you if any of these are true for you. You:

  • are avoiding a decision because it feels complicated or confusing
  • want help with questions to ask a doctor, lawyer, or other professional
  • find paperwork, phone calls, or processes overwhelming
  • need help narrowing options and making a thoughtful choice
  • want practical support (not therapy, coaching or advice giving)

Sometimes what people need most is someone to do the work alongside them, or on their behalf entirely, so they can focus on what matters most.

If you'd like to see real examples of how this kind of support looks in practice, read Client Stories.
